Matthew Zietsman (Gr 4E2) took part in the SA Gym Games in the City of Tswana during the school holidays.

He came 5th overall in South Africa for his Tumbling (Level 6), after not completing his second tumbling routine due to a bad landing.

He just missed being chosen for the All Africa Games, as he came 5th and the top 4 gymnasts are chosen. He also competed in the MAG (Mens Artistic Level 5) competition and achieved a bronze medal for his rings and is the highest ranking gymnast for the Western Cape.

He came 11th overall in South Africa for all MAG disciplines, which are rings, pommel, floor, vault, high bar and parallel bars. He did extremely well considering that the competition for Level 5 and 6 is judged extremely strictly, being only a few levels away from Pre-Olympic (Level 8).

Well done Matthew. We are very proud of you!
